Installation

Get Markdown Viewer installed in just 30 seconds on your browser, editor, or note-taking app.

Browser Extensions

Chrome Extension

Install from the Chrome Web Store:

🚀 Chrome Web Store - Markdown Viewer

  1. Click the “Add to Chrome” button
  2. In the popup dialog, click “Add extension”
  3. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete

Microsoft Edge Extension

Install from the native Edge Add-ons listing:

  1. Click “Get”
  2. Confirm “Add extension” in the Edge dialog
  3. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete

Verify Browser Installation

You should see the Markdown Viewer icon in your browser’s extension toolbar. If you don’t see it:

  1. Click the puzzle piece icon (Extensions) in Chrome’s toolbar
  2. Find “Markdown Viewer” in the list
  3. Click the pin icon to keep it visible

✅ Installation complete!

Firefox Extension

Firefox users can install from Firefox Add-ons:

  1. Visit Firefox Add-ons - Markdown Viewer
  2. Click “Add to Firefox”
  3. Confirm the installation

Obsidian Plugin

Install from the Obsidian Community Plugins directory:

  1. Open Obsidian
  2. Go to Settings → Community plugins
  3. Turn off Restricted mode if prompted
  4. Click Browse and search for Markdown Viewer
  5. Click Install, then Enable

After installation, open the Command Palette and run Open Markdown Viewer.

VS Code Extension

For VS Code users who want to preview and export Markdown within the editor:

  1. Visit the link above
  2. Click Install
  3. Or open VS Code, go to Extensions (Ctrl+Shift+X / Cmd+Shift+X)
  4. Search for “Markdown Viewer Extension”
  5. Click Install
